Building a Finca in Mallorca: From Vision to Reality

We have build Finca la Vall from the bare field. We bought a plot on 17.000 m2 with almond trees and build our 450 m2 finca from scratch respecting the local building traditions of the island to blend in the landscape

This finca project represents a five-year journey from initial concept to completed home. Beginning in 2019, La Vall Projects guided the project through every stage of planning, licensing, construction, and interior development, transforming a vision into a finished family home in Mallorca.

As is often the case with new-build projects on the island, the most time-consuming phase was not the construction itself, but securing the necessary planning permissions and licences. The planning and licensing process took approximately four years and required close coordination with architects, engineers, consultants, and local authorities.

Once approvals were in place, construction progressed efficiently and was completed within just one year. Throughout the build, La Vall Projects managed the coordination of all stakeholders, ensuring quality control, budget oversight, timeline management, and clear communication at every stage.

The finca combines contemporary comfort with traditional Mallorcan character. Natural materials, generous outdoor living spaces, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape create a home that feels both timeless and deeply rooted in its environment.

Alongside the construction process, we developed the interior concept to create a cohesive result where architecture, materials, furnishings, and styling work seamlessly together. The design balances Nordic simplicity with Mediterranean warmth, resulting in a home that is elegant, functional, and designed for modern living.

This completed project demonstrates the importance of patience, planning, and experienced project management when building in Mallorca. From the first sketches in 2019 to the finished home in 2025, the project showcases how a clear vision and careful coordination can bring even the most ambitious finca project to life.
