After the Renovation

Located in the historic centre of Palma Old Town, this 70 m² apartment was completely transformed by La Vall Projects in just three months.

Spanning two floors and featuring a private rooftop terrace, the project combined renovation, interior design, furnishing, and styling to create a contemporary city home with character, warmth, and functionality.

The brief was clear: modernise the apartment while working within the framework of an Obra Menor building licence, meaning the existing layout and structural walls had to remain unchanged. Rather than altering the architecture, the focus was placed on carefully reimagining the interiors, improving materials, and maximising the potential of every square metre.

The renovation included the installation of a new kitchen and appliances, refreshed bathroom finishes, new flooring throughout the apartment and rooftop terrace, and a complete repainting of walls and ceilings. Microcement surfaces were introduced to create a clean and cohesive aesthetic while enhancing the sense of light and space.

A key part of the transformation was the furnishing and styling of the apartment. Inspired by Scandinavian simplicity and Mediterranean living, the interiors combine natural materials, soft textures, and a restrained colour palette to create a calm and timeless atmosphere. Every detail was carefully considered to balance practicality with comfort, resulting in a home that feels both elegant and inviting.

The rooftop terrace became one of the defining features of the project. Previously underutilised, it was redesigned as an outdoor living space with lounge seating and a barbecue area, creating a private retreat above the city. The terrace now functions as an extension of the home, offering a place to relax, entertain, and enjoy Mallorca's outdoor lifestyle throughout the year.

Managed from start to finish by La Vall Projects, the renovation demonstrates how thoughtful design, careful planning, and efficient project execution can completely transform a property within a relatively short timeframe. The result is a bright and welcoming Palma apartment that combines modern living with the unique charm of the historic old town.
