The Finished Home
Nestled in the heart of Selva, one of Mallorca's most charming villages, this beautifully renovated townhouse became the new home of a British-American couple seeking a space that felt both personal and connected to its surroundings.
Having recently purchased the property, the owners approached La Vall Projects to help transform the house into a home. While the renovation itself had already been completed, the interiors lacked warmth, personality, and a sense of cohesion. Our role was to develop the furnishing concept, source furniture and accessories, coordinate deliveries, oversee installation, and complete the final styling.
The process began with an in-depth conversation about how the clients wanted to live in the space. Together, we reviewed existing furniture and identified several pieces worth keeping, allowing us to build upon what already held meaning while creating a fresh and cohesive interior.
A favourite artwork owned by the clients became the starting point for the entire design concept. The warm yellow tones within the piece inspired a palette of orchard yellow combined with soft earth tones drawn from the Mallorcan landscape. These colours were layered throughout the home using textiles, furniture, lighting, and carefully selected decorative elements.
While the kitchen was already well-designed and functional, a few thoughtful changes helped soften its overall expression. Black details, including taps and curtain rails, were replaced with warmer finishes that felt more in harmony with the character of the house and the overall design concept.
One of the property's greatest assets was undoubtedly the rooftop terrace. Despite offering spectacular views across the rooftops of Selva and towards the Tramuntana mountains, the space had not been fully utilised. We transformed it into two distinct outdoor living areas: a dining space for long summer evenings and a comfortable lounge area designed for slow mornings, sunset drinks, and relaxed gatherings with family and friends.
As the clients were living abroad, our role extended far beyond design. We managed the complete procurement and installation process, including ordering, payments, delivery coordination, receiving goods, unpacking, assembly, and final styling. Having a trusted local partner on the island allowed the clients to avoid the logistical challenges of furnishing a home remotely and ensured everything was ready for their arrival.
The result is a warm, welcoming townhouse that feels both timeless and personal — combining the charm of a traditional Mallorcan village house with carefully curated interiors designed around the lifestyle and personality of its owners.
